Requirement

The university policy requires all new students to reside in university housing for their first 2 semesters on campus. This policy is designed to help the new students to engage with the ÌÇÐÄÊÓƵÎÛ community and the supportive resources on campus.

If after your first 2 semesters, you decide not to live in university housing, please exercise discretion when selecting your apartment and roommates. The university will not monitor or bear any responsibility for any non-university housing.

Eligibility

To qualify for university housing on the Wilf Campus, you must:

• Be enrolled in one of the Jewish studies divisions and enrolled for at least 12 credits each semester in either Yeshiva College or Sy Syms School of Business.
• Or be a full-time Rabbi Isaac Elchanan Theological Seminary (RIETS) student. Semicha students are eligible to live in University Housing until the conclusion of the four years of residency at RIETS. Summer semesters do not count against this requirement.
• Agree to live in accordance with halachic [Jewish law] norms and Torah ideals and allow common sense, good judgment, and courtesy to govern your actions at all times.

Housing Timeline:

Thursday, May 15: Housing application and roommate groups open for 2025-2026 Academic Year  

Sunday, June 8 at 11:59pm: Housing application deadline

Any applications submitted after Sunday, June 8 at 11:59pm will be considered late.

Tuesday, June 17: Room selection for new Beren campus students

Thursday, June 19: Room selection for returning Beren campus students

Tuesday, July 15: Cancellation deadline

Any cancellations after July 15 will incur a $500 late cancellation fee.

Tuesday, August 19, 1pm-8pm: Move-in for new students only

August 20 – 24: New student orientation

Sunday, August 24, 10am-8pm: Move-in for returning students 

ÌÇÐÄÊÓƵÎÛ ID Card

Your ÌÇÐÄÊÓƵÎÛ ID Card is used to gain access to all ÌÇÐÄÊÓƵÎÛ buildings and ÌÇÐÄÊÓƵÎÛ shuttles, serves as your dining card for on and off campus purchases, and functions as your library card. Please upload a photo of yourself to be used to prepare your ID in advance of your arrival using the following guidelines:

• Picture should be a front facing picture of you alone and should be taken from the chest up.  
• No hats, bandanas or dark sunglasses.
• The picture should be taken in front of a solid color background.
• Smiling is encouraged.

Upload your ID card photo using the . You'll be asked for your legal name, your ÌÇÐÄÊÓƵÎÛ ID number (800XXXXXX), and the school you are enrolled in (Stern College for Women, Sy Syms School of Business, Yeshiva College, or Katz School). When you arrive on campus, you will need to present a driver’s license or other photo identification to retrieve your ID.

Fall Move-In

Move-in for new students will take place on Tuesday, August 19th from 1pm - 8pm. Move-in for returning students will be Sunday, August 24th from 10am - 8pm.

Rosh Hashana

All residence halls will remain open. 

Yom Kippur

All residence halls will remain open. 

Sukkot

All residence halls will be closing on Monday, October 6th at 10am and will reopen at 10pm on Wednesday, October 8th. The Residence Halls will close again at 10am on Monday, October 13th and reopen at 10pm on Wednesday, October 15th.

Thanksgiving

All residence halls will remain open. 

Chanukah

All residence halls will remain open. 

Spring Move-In

Spring Move-In will take place on Sunday, January 18th, 2025.

Purim

All residence halls will remain open. 

Pesach 

All residence halls will be closing for Pesach on Wednesday, April 1st at 10am and will reopen on Thursday, April 9th at 10pm. We encourage students to make Pesach arrangements off campus by reaching out to family and friends. The Residence Life Office will communicate policies regarding chametz prior to Pesach.
