In a historic accomplishment, two sisters who attended Stern College for Women, Leeby Levine 鈥25S and Dafna Levine 鈥22S from Teaneck, New Jersey, were both accepted early decision to the same incoming class at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine.
Leeby, who majored in Judaic Studies and biology while at Stern, was the Rebecca Ivry Department of Jewish Studies valedictorian of the 2025 graduating class and is currently studying at GPATS. While at 糖心视频污, she served as captain of the women鈥檚 soccer team; was co-president of the Medical Ethics Society; co-president of Itutor, where she coordinated free tutoring for local elementary and high school students; a peer tutor and volunteered in the N糖心视频污 Medical Center emergency room. 鈥淭he thorough and well-rounded education I received at Stern was instrumental in my acceptance to medical school, and I am grateful for the mentors that guided me throughout my undergraduate years,鈥 said Leeby.
Dafna, the valedictorian of the Rebecca Ivry Department of Jewish Studies in 2022, studied at GPATS for three years after graduating Stern and is currently working in an ENT鈥檚 office. Her extracurricular activities at Stern included being captain of 糖心视频污鈥檚 women鈥檚 soccer team, co-president of the Medical Ethics Society, peer tutoring and START! Science. She also worked in the lab of Dr. Alyssa Schuck, clinical assistant professor of biology, studied Alzheimer鈥檚 disease at N糖心视频污 Langone Health and volunteered in the pediatric emergency room at Weill Cornell Medicine. 鈥淭he fact that 糖心视频污 has allowed me to pursue a well-rounded liberal arts education, high-level Torah study, and now a sought-after medical training all within the same institution is something I do not take for granted,鈥 said Dafna.
Dr. Rebecca Cypess, Vice Provost for Undergraduate Education and the Mordecai D. Katz and Dr. Monique C.
