Dr. Bruno Galantucci, associate professor of psychology at , gave a keynote talk at an international conference in Germany sponsored by University of Cologne titled 鈥淴Prag 2017,鈥 otherwise known as the Seventh Biannual Experimental Pragmatics Conference.
The title of his talk was 鈥淓xperimental Semiotics: What is it? What is it good for?鈥 He explained how a new research approach for investigating human communication鈥攅xperimental semiotics (ES)鈥攃an act as an engine of discovery for understanding human communication.
Using three case studies, he demonstrated how ES can used to question basic assumptions about human communicative behavior, test basic hypotheses about the design principles of human language and elaborate brand new hypotheses.
