Robert Tufts, adjunct instructor in management, has long been a strong advocate for patient and doctor access and choice in medical care.
In a recent video on the website , he comments on the situation of Mariah Zebrowski Leach and Chantelle Marcial, who have worked with their doctors to find the right treatment for their rheumatoid arthritis, only to find that their insurance companies refuse to provide them with access to the care they need.
As Tufts explains in the video, it鈥檚 a consequence of the bigger battle over who defines 鈥渧alue鈥 in health care and whether insurance companies can turn patients into 鈥渓ittle inhuman dots on a chart.鈥
