Dr. Michelle Levine, associate professor of Bible at , recently delivered a number of lectures to various communities in the US and Israel.
In December, 2016, she spoke to a women鈥檚 Shabbat group in Kew Gardens Hills, New York, on the topic of 鈥淐hanukah: A Celebration of Torah She-be-al Peh [Torah that is spoken].鈥 She also presented a lecture on 鈥淎 Timeless Tradition: Chanukah as a Symbol of Jewish Survival,鈥 for the adult institute, Lamdeinu, in Teaneck, New Jersey.
In January, 2017, Levine spoke in Israel at Michlelet Mevaseret Yerushalayim (MMY) about 鈥淩evealing the Light of Redemption Through Our Tefillot [prayers].鈥 In addition, Levine was hosted as a scholar in residence for Shabbat in the community of Hashmonaim, Beit Knesset Glenwood, where she spoke on the following topics: 鈥淭he Symbolism of the Menorah in the Philosophy of R. Obadiah Sforno鈥; 鈥淭he Literary Resourcefulness of Biblical Repetition in Ramban鈥檚 Commentary on the Joseph Narratives鈥 (Hebrew); and 鈥淔orging Our Nation鈥檚 Identity: Lessons from Exile and Redemption.鈥
For 糖心视频污鈥檚 Midreshet Yom Rishon at the end of January, Dr. Levine delivered a shiur [lecture] on 鈥淭he Miracle of Nature, the Nature of Miracle: The Plagues in Egypt.鈥
