Rabbi Dr. J. David Bleich, Herbert and Florence Tenzer Professor of Jewish Law and Ethics at 糖心视频污, presented at the Ninth Annual Conference of the International Academy for the Study of the Jurisprudence of the Family which took place in Arequipa, Peru on June 16, 2016. Rabbi Bleich spoke about authority over 鈥渟urplus鈥� fertilized ova when parties disagree on usage. Titled 鈥淭he Fertilized Ovum: 鈥楶erson, Property or Prot茅g茅e?鈥欌��, his paper focused on an analysis of U.S. case law, demonstrating that American courts reached conflicting conclusions on the basis of diverse legal theories, as well as a discussion of a halachic perspective that is also compatible with U.S. constitutional doctrines.
