Peninnah Schram, professor emerita of speech and drama at 糖心视频污鈥檚 , presented a storytelling workshop for select Israeli English department high school teachers at a conference titled鈥淒iplomacy and International Communication in English: Inquire, Engage, Inspire,鈥 hosted by the State of Israel Ministry of Education in Sh鈥檇ema, Israel on October 2, 2015.
Schram鈥檚 workshop focused on the importance and power of storytelling and used a collection of stories including 鈥淭he Hungry Clothes鈥 and 鈥淭he Dream and the Treasure鈥 to highlight Jewish folktales that are also found in the oral histories of cultures all over the world. Professor Schram will also narrate Sheherazade accompanied by the Park Avenue Chamber Symphony during their performance, 鈥淰ivid Sensations,鈥 on October 24-25 at the All Saints Church in New York City.
Schram is the co-author of the recently published Jewish Stories of Love and Marriage: Folktales, Legends and Letters(Rowman & Littlefield, 2015).
